Xerox 3610 Printer Review

The Xerox Phaser 3610 is a laser printer designed for small or mid-sized offices, but it can handle fairly heavy workloads, with an upgradeable paper capacity and quick speeds of up to 47 pages per minute. Its control panel is a bit limited, however, and Xerox 3610 printer toner supplies are fairly expensive to replace.

The 3610 comes in two models: the 3610N is the base model with networking features, and the 3610DN also adds automatic duplexing for quick two-sided prints. The design is quite compact, with dimensions of just 12.4x15.5x16.8 inches, and it weighs only 28.7 pounds, even with the Phaser 3610 toner supplies in place.

The unit's paper handling is solid from the start, with a standard paper capacity of 700 sheets that can later be expanded with additional trays up to a maximum of 2,350 sheets. The standard setup includes a 150-sheet multipurpose tray that is an excellent option for loading alternative media without the hassle of emptying the main tray.

Professional reviews of the 3610 praise its sharp text quality, and its graphics output is also slightly above average. Photos are generally good for a business-centric device, and reviewers also praise the machine's features for private printing, locking down a print job until a user enters a PIN code on the control panel.

Replacement toners for the device are pricey, even though they do have decent yields. Each Xerox 3610 toner cartridge can supply an estimated 5,900 pages before expiring. Unfortunately, with such a high price tag, the average cost per page for Phaser 3610 toner cartridges is still expensive.

While impressive from a speed and upgradeability standpoint, the 3610 may not be the best choice for a small office on a tight budget. Its purchase price is a good fit, but the cost of Xerox 3610 toner may be a bit too much to handle.
