Xerox 3010 Printer Review
It wasn't long ago that laser printers were expensive and bulky machines, but today models like the Xerox Phaser 3010 prove that times are changing. This compact and affordable printer can reach speeds of up to 20 pages per minute, but is designed for the home or small office user instead of a large office. Buyers still get the benefit of inexpensive Xerox 3010 printer toner, however.
Unlike many compact models that are limited to a 600 dpi resolution, the 3010 can reach up to 1200 dpi in its highest quality modes. This means sharper output quality, which particularly shows up in smooth text and graphics. Xerox also claims the machine is quieter and more energy efficient than many of its competitors.
The unit connects only via USB 2.0, so neither wired nor wireless networking is included. For individuals, however, this won't be a downside. The unit is compatible with Windows and Mac operating systems, and has an input paper capacity of 150 sheets. It offers a quick first page out time of 8 seconds that gets a new task started quickly, and it can reach a maximum monthly duty cycle of up to 30,000 images.
Instead of multiple toners to replace, users need to replace only one Xerox 3010 toner cartridge. Each replacement Phaser 3010 toner cartridge can last for around 1,000 pages, which means they are few and far between. Phaser 3010 toner tends to be pretty affordable, especially compared to comparable inkjet supplies.
The 3010 is certainly not designed for the high-volume office environment, but for a busy home user or small office user, it could be an excellent choice. Its output speeds are impressive considering its compact design, and it has just enough paper capacity to keep things rolling smoothly. Best of all, users can save a lot on Xerox 3010 toner compared to other home office solutions.
