Xerox M165 Printer Review
The Xerox WorkCentre M165 laser copier also comes with printing capabilities as a standard feature, supports duplexing, and has excellent network sharing capabilities for a large office. Users will see a lot of savings on Xerox M165 printer toner compared to its competition, and it can reach speeds of up to 65 pages per minute.
The M165 is certainly designed to work in a busy network environment. Not only can users handle many of its functions from the large touchscreen control panel, but accessing the CentreWare Web software, office managers can monitor usage, paper supply, and the amount of WorkCentre M165 toner remaining from just about anywhere. Users can also access a number of tools from the desktop PC to control their printed output and get the best possible results.
One feature that is missing from the mix with the M165 is scanning. One could argue that its "Email" function can accomplish many of the same goals, allowing users to scan and send documents as an email attachment. Still, it is limited to 300 dpi resolution, and users will have to upgrade to the WorkCentre Pro model to get this full capability.
The M165 base model is fully-upgradeable to the WorkCentre Pro model and its enhanced capabilities, or users can add them a little at a time. The initial paper capacity of 4,800 pages can't be expanded, however, so what you see is what you get.
Toners are inexpensive to replace, and the large capacity of Xerox M165 toner cartridges should make this model appealing enough on its own. A package of two WorkCentre M165 toner cartridges can provide a yield of up to 90,000 pages, dropping the cost per page well-below much of the competition in this price range.
Although the M165 is a very robust and capable machine in its standard configuration, some buyers could look at it as a platform to build upon, with many upgrade options available. Either way, its fast speeds and low-cost Xerox M165 toner are enough to make it worth a look for a large office.
