The Xerox FaxCentre F116 is a multifunction laser fax machine that also includes printing, scanning and copying capabilities. The scanner can scan document with a maximum resolution of 600x600 dpi. The copier can produce duplicates with a resolution of up to 300x300 dpi using black Xerox F116 toner and is able to print up to 99 duplicates from an original document. The fax machine has a modem speed of 33.6 Kbps that can send faxes at a speed of around 3 seconds per page. It can store up to 8 MB of fax memory, or 550 pages. The fax machine also comes with up to 26 one-touch dials and 500 speed dials.

Paper handling features include a main 250-sheet tray, single-page bypass tray that can feed media like envelopes, and an additional 500-sheet input tray. Supported media sizes include A4, legal, letter, executive and A5. The F116 also has an output tray that can store up to 100 pages. Additional provided features include a maximum printer memory of 32 MB and a flash memory of 64 MB.

The device operates with a single black printer toner that is easy and cost efficient to replace compared to printers that use multiple toners. Replacement FaxCentre F116 toner cartridges can be found at a number of third party vendor sites. The Xerox F116 toner cartridge can last as many as 6,000 prints. The manufacturer provides users with a starter Xerox F116 toner that will have users printing their first projects with little wait time. The starter FaxCentre F116 toner can yield up to 2,000 pages.
