Xerox 7855 Printer Review

With the fastest speeds in its model line, the Xerox WorkCentre 7855 is a multifunction color laser printer with impressive performance. At up to 55 pages per minute and a first page out time as fast as 5.9 seconds, it is quick to respond, and it is ready for large output volumes. With expensive WorkCentre 7855 printer toner and a high price tag, however, it is best suited to large offices and large budgets.

The 7855 uses Xerox's ConnectKey Controller platform for the control panel, which makes it easy to access important features, apply updates, and monitor information like paper supply level and the remaining Xerox 7855 toner, so that users can order replacement toners well ahead of time. The ConnectKey system also lets users print from smartphones and tablets with the use of specialized apps.

The maximum print resolution of 1200x2400 dpi produces excellent prints with sharp detail, and the machine can support media sizes all the way up to 11x17 inches. When scanning, users can send their scans to an email address or a variety of locations on the network, as well as store them on the internal drive. Best of all, a single-pass duplexing automatic document feeder can scan both sides at once, and holds up to 130 sheets at a time.

The major drawback of the unit is the high cost of WorkCentre 7855 toner cartridges. With a capacity of 15,000 pages (color) and 26,000 pages (black), the cost per page of Xerox 7855 toner cartridges is quite a bit higher than much of its competition.

It is easy to recommend the 7855 based on its excellent features and fast speeds, as well as its ability to handle large volumes of work. It is more difficult to recommend it based on its expensive price tag and costly Xerox 7855 toner, which will hit large offices particularly hard.
