With the Xerox WorkCentre 6605, the manufacturer takes the best features of the 6600 model and embellishes it with the ability to copy, scan, and fax, making it a single solution color laser printer for a small office. Print speeds are fairly quick, at up to 36 pages per minute, and its purchase price is affordable.

There are two variations available: the 6605N is the base model with network sharing capabilities and the 6605DN with the addition of automatic duplexing. Both models use the same Xerox 6605 printer toner, and both have the same features otherwise. Initial paper capacity includes a main tray of 550 sheets, and a bypass tray can hold up to 150 sheets of alternate media. A second tray of 550 sheets can be added at any time.

The maximum copy resolution is 600 dpi, and copies have a first page out time as fast as 13 seconds. Advanced features like 2-up output and collating are included, and the 50-page automatic document feeder can make short work of a tall stack of documents. Scans can be saved to a USB memory device, sent to an email address, or saved to an FTP server or network drive.

Having multiple functions in one device means the same toners are shared, but Xerox 6605 toner cartridges aren't exactly cheap. High-capacity WorkCentre 6605 toner cartridges offer a yield of 6,000 pages for each color and 8,000 for black, however, which helps to make the cost per page of WorkCentre 6605 toner a little more manageable.
