Xerox 415 Printer Review
The Xerox WorkCentre Pro 415 is a laser copier that provides solid copy speeds of up to 15 pages per minute, and a quick response time of around 7.5 seconds for the first page. It's somewhat limited copy speed will make it better-suited to an office with lower volume needs that requires a dedicated machine, especially with its 15,000 images monthly duty cycle. Xerox 415 printer toner is also not as cost-effective as some models with similar specs.
Paper capacity for the 415 is fairly generous, with two separate trays that can each hold up to 500 sheets of paper sizes up to A3. There is a separate 50-sheet bypass tray that can be used for alternate colors, types, and sizes of media, without requiring a user to empty one of the main trays. The paper capacity can be further expanded by adding optional trays if necessary.
When copying, users can use reduction and enlargement options from 50% to 200%. Multiple presets are provided for quick access, and custom increments can be specified on the control panel when needed. The machine is surprisingly quiet given its size, at less than 52 dBA under operating conditions, with occasional pulses of up to 55. The unit requires a Windows platform, and does not support other operating systems.
The toners slide out of the front of the device once the access panel is open, and the Xerox 415 toner cartridges are simple to replace. The yield of 6,000 pages for WorkCentre Pro 415 toner cartridges is a bit disappointing, and prices are a bit high. This means a higher cost per page for WorkCentre Pro 415 toner than many newer models.
If buyers don't mind its somewhat slow speeds and the higher cost of Xerox 415 toner, it may be an affordable choice copies in a low-volume office. In general, the limitations of the 415 make it difficult to recommend when there are better options available.
