Xerox 3450 Printer Review
If a workgroup laser printer is needed for large offices, Xerox is one of the best places to look. One specific model worth considering is the Xerox Phaser 3450. Weighing only 33.1 pounds, it will be easy enough for nearly anyone in the office to move around. Not only that, but it makes a small 15.0x17.6x12.6 inch footprint that will take up little room and make it a simple fit no matter the office's physical size. With a monthly duty cycle of up to 100,000 pages, most large offices will find that their needs are easily met. The 3450 is also compatible with Windows, Mac, Novell and Linux operating systems.
Because this is a black-and-white printer, exclusively, only one Xerox 3450 toner cartridge needs to be maintained for operation. The black printer toner comes in two sizes—standard capacity and high capacity. The standard capacity Phaser 3450 toner cartridge holds 5,000 pages worth of printer toner, while the high capacity will last 10,000 pages before needing replaced. For large offices that print a lot every day, the high capacity option will save money and reduce the amount of times buyers need to replace toners.
As far as speeds go, these speeds are top notch. Able to produce up to 25 pages per minute when using the Xerox 3450 toner, most offices will find that it keeps up with the pace very well. Users will also love the fact that Phaser 3450 toner makes it possible to reach resolutions as high as 600x600 dpi. Xerox 3450 toner resolutions like that will mean that text documents will come out looking flawless.
Upon purchase, only 32 MB of RAM are included, so if more RAM is needed, buyers can simply upgrade up to 160 MB. Envelopes, plain paper, cards, labels and transparencies can all be produced with the 3450.
