Xerox 165 Printer Review
The Xerox WorkCentre Pro 165 multifunction laser printer includes the four major functions: printing, faxing, scanning, and copying. It tops out at an impressive 65 pages per minute for printing and copying, has a heavy-duty monthly duty cycle, and can be expanded to take on a very large workload. Best of all, affordable Xerox 165 printer toner makes it one of the least expensive models in its class to operate.
The design of the 165 is clearly not intended for smaller spaces. With the office finisher included, it measures 48x61x35 inches, and it weighs a whopping 358 pounds with the WorkCentre Pro 165 toner installed. Its large touchscreen lacks color, but has an efficient layout for controlling complex tasks, and it can store custom settings for easy access. Numerous upgrade options are available, such as finishers, staplers, and extra paper capacity trays and feeders.
The fifth function listed for the 165 might just be one of its most useful: email. Scanned documents can be sent directly to multiple email addresses, as a cost-saving alternative to faxing that can reduce paper and Xerox 165 toner costs at the same time. Users can also send a document to a unique email address, even remotely, and the unit will begin printing it automatically, though security settings can keep this feature locked if desired. Users can also scan to a PC and use the included PaperPort and OmniPage software to sort and edit their files.
High-capacity toners can make all the difference in operating costs and Xerox 165 toner cartridges can supply up to 45,000 pages each. The WorkCentre Pro 165 toner cartridges are also often sold in packs of two, and are very affordably priced.
The Pro 165 offers almost everything a large office could want, except for color output, but it comes at a steep upfront price. Those who can handle the cost will eventually save a lot on supplies, however.
