Just because the Sharp MX-M283N multifunction laser printer is one of the slower models in its lineup doesn't mean buyers should overlook it. In fact, it packs a lot of features into a space-saving design, prints at an adequate speed of 28 pages per minute, and uses affordable Sharp MX-M283N printer toner to keep operating costs low.

Front and center on the device is an 8.5-inch color touchscreen display that makes for easy navigation. With an 80 GB hard drive for document storage, it also provides a quick way to manage digital files and share them with recipients both in and out of the office. Taking advantage of its email capabilities provides an alternative to faxing, and saves Sharp MX-M283N toner and paper at the same time.

The 100-sheet reversing document feeder can scan up to 50 images per minute, converting from paper to digital at a fast rate. It comes standard with dual 500-sheet drawers and a 100-sheet bypass tray, but optional trays can boost it up to a maximum of 5,600 sheets. Other optional upgrades include finishing features like saddle stitching, stapling, and hole-punching, and traditional faxing can be added for offices that still need it.
