Sharp AR-M5631 Printer Review
With fairly quick speeds of up to 31 pages per minute, the Sharp AR-M5631 multifunction laser printer exceeds expectations for such an affordable device. Features like automatic duplexing and options like a 40-sheet document feeder help enhance its value, and Sharp AR-M5631 printer toner comes in high capacities for a low cost per page.
Users get a solid set of copying features, like the ability to make up to 999 copies from a single original. The unit also handles sorting and collating, with editing options for rotation, margin shift, and more. The one thing not included in the standard configuration is a document feeder, with only a flatbed scanner out of the box. A 40-sheet reversing document feeder is available as an upgrade, however.
Print and copy resolution is limited to 600 dpi, which is enough for basic office documents, but might be limiting for photos and detailed graphics. The scanning function is also limited to a 600 dpi monochrome resolution, but the Sharpdesk desktop software is a great way to keep digital documents organized, as well as edit and share them. Users may find the digital workflows powerful enough to reduce their reliance on paper, while saving on Sharp AR-M5631 toner at the same time. Users can even assign different sharing locations to dedicated buttons on the control panel.
By enabling the Toner Save mode, users can go longer between replacement toners, and Sharp AR-M5631 toner cartridges already offer a high yield of around 25,000 pages. Using compatible Sharp AR-M5631 toner cartridge replacements can make it one of the most cost-effective devices in its class.
The design of the AR-M5631 certainly focuses on copying, but with a few upgrades, it is a fairly robust printer and scanner as well. The small or medium office buyer will appreciate its low price and upgradeability, and its low operating costs.
