Sharp AL-1520 Printer Review
With maximum copy speeds of 15 pages per minute, the Sharp AL-1520 multifunction laser copier won't win any awards for output speed, but it does bundle enough features to make small office users quite happy, especially for the price. Its compact design is a good fit in small spaces, but high-capacity Sharp AL-1520 printer toner supplies can last a long time.
When it comes to copies, users get the common features they will expect. It includes both a flatbed scanning surface and a 30-sheet automatic document feeder that will help work through a large stack of pages in short order. It can handle both letter and legal size paper, giving a degree of flexibility not always available in such a small device.
For printing, users might find the maximum speed of 12 pages per minute a bit slow, and they also may find the 250-sheet input paper tray a little small. A single-sheet bypass tray is available, however, which can be very helpful when printing on envelopes, transparencies, or other specialty media.
Basic scanning features are included, and the AL-1520 can handle color scanning as well. The Sharpdesk software included with the machine can help users easily manage their scanned documents, and it also provides multiple methods for sharing them.
The Sharp AL-1520 toner cartridge included with the machine will run out fairly quickly, as it is meant to be a starter supply. Toners are easy to replace, and replacement Sharp AL-1520 toner cartridges have an estimated yield of around 6,000 pages, however.
The AL-1520 is a bit limited in capacity and speed, mainly due to its compact design. Those who don't mind a few caveats, however, will love the unit's low purchase price and the affordability of Sharp AL-1520 toner.
