The Savin AC205 is a multifunction device with print, scan, copy, and fax capabilities built around a monochrome laser printing engine. It is designed with the small to medium office or workgroup in mind. One of the AC205's standout features is the front-mounted USB port, which allows users to print from and scan to a USB thumb drive. This is a particularly useful feature, as it enables a simple way for anyone to print or scan without the need for a network connection or access to a computer.

Scanning and copying can be done with either the flatbed scanner or the automatic document feeder, which can hold up to 50 sheets at a time. The copying function supports zooming from 50-400%. The copier also features a Combine/ID copy feature, which lets the user scan both sides of an ID and have them both printed on one sheet of paper. Office environments that need to scan copies of IDs on a regular basis will find this feature very appealing.

Fax capabilities include Super G3 speeds and memory of up to 320 pages. The unit also supports adding and editing phonebook entries from a PC instead of the fax machine itself. This can be a great timesaver as it can be a very slow process entering names and phone numbers into a multifunction machine directly. A 43-hour Fax Memory Backup feature saves all fax communications from the last 43 hours into memory so that they are recoverable in cases of power loss.

All modern versions of Windows are supported, but there is no Mac or Linux support included, which may be a downside for some buyers.

Overall, the Savin AC205 is a very capable multifunction machine with all the right features at an affordable price for both the printer and toner. Lack of Mac and Linux support is the only major drawback.
