The Samsung ML-5015ND laser printer definitely has the speed and paper handling for a busy small office environment, and it has a low purchase price as well. Printing up to 48 pages per minute, this unit also includes networking and automatic duplexing, but buyers need to beware of the high cost of Samsung ML-5015ND printer toner.

Sometimes referred to simply as the ML-5015, the device can hold up to 520 sheets in the main tray, with an additional 100-sheet multipurpose tray to hold other media types like envelopes or transparencies. The printer is relatively compact, and it weighs less than 60 pounds, even with the Samsung ML-5015ND toner installed.

The control panel includes a 4.3-inch color touchscreen, something unexpected for such an affordable model, and the simple interface is easy to navigate, even for novice users. With an Eco button right on the control panel, users can enable the eco mode to reduce the usage of paper, toners, and even energy, and the balance of these aspects can be configured to a fine degree by the user.

A number of security features and enhancements are included as well. Users can lock a document for secure printing, so that it won't start until the user enters a pin code. Samsung Barcode Solutions provides a system for creating, printing, and tracking barcodes.

Standard Samsung ML-5015ND toner cartridges have a yield of up to 7,000 pages, but they are a little on the expensive side. Upgrading to the larger Samsung ML-5015ND toner cartridges with 15,000 and 20,000 pages will reduce the cost per page, but it is still not as cost-effective as some of the competition.

With networking and duplexing, and some of the fastest speeds in its class and price range, the ML-5015ND is an excellent value. Buyers should factor in the high cost of consumables, however.
