Samsung ML-4600 Printer Review
A monochrome laser printer is a printer that operates only in black-and-white and uses printer toner instead of ink tanks. These can come in small sizes, medium sizes or large sizes, depending on the environment it's needed for. The Samsung ML-4600 is one of the most popular of the personal monochrome products. Weighing only 13.7 pounds, there shouldn't be complaints when it comes to moving it around. Its size of 13x8.8x13.5 inches should be easy to find a spot for too, even in the smallest of rooms. Parallel and USB connection are both offered, which is convenient, and Windows and Mac operating systems are both supported. The only downside may be the slower-than-average speeds of only 8 pages per minute. Consumers tend to rate the unit highly, and find that the ML-4600 is an excellent printer all around.
Because this is a monochrome unit, only one black Samsung ML-4600 toner cartridge will be needed. Some units can use up to 10 toners. This single consumable yields 2,500 pages, and it offers a relatively competitive cost per page. When using the Samsung ML-4600 toner, resolutions as high as 1200x600 dpi can be reached. Resolutions like that will always result in great professional looking documents. The sharpness and detail will be exceptional.
Many different media types work well with this unit too. The Samsung ML-4600 toner cartridges print exceptionally onto labels, envelopes, cards, transparencies and plain paper. It uses a curved paper path, though, which will give users more paper jams than a straight-through paper path would. About 150 sheets of plain paper can fit in the machine at one time, and there is an automatic loading setting. Documents can be printed that are as large as 8.5x14 inches. The ML-4600 should be able to handle about 2,000 pages every month.
