Fully loaded with numerous functions and solid features, the Ricoh Aficio MP2510 is far from a base model, but is quite an impressive and full-featured monochrome laser copier, printer, fax machine and scanner. Though it does not have a wireless option, the MP2510 does provide a single-PC connection, and it can be shared among multiple office users with its built-in ethernet port. It has a print and copy speed of up to 25 pages per minute, and a first page out time of 6 seconds.

The device benefits from laser technology to print at a resolution of 600x600 dpi that will consistently generate sharp lines and clear text. Because it is not a color copier, it does not need multiple toners, which will reduce replacement costs. The single black Aficio MP2510 toner cartridge has an estimated page yield of 11,000 prints. A notification system is built-in to the machine that will alert users when Ricoh MP2510 toner is running low. Users can also use the control panel to monitor the level of remaining Aficio MP2510 toner.

With G3 capabilities and a 33.6 Kbps transmission rate, the faxing function can process faxes in as little as 3 seconds. The flatbed scanner can save documents to files or send them straight to email. For every document that is scanned, up to 999 copies can be made in a single task. The automatic document feeder is used for documents with multiple pages, and can hold up to 50 sheets for fast processing.

The two standard input trays hold 500 sheets each while the bypass tray can hold up to 100 sheets of specialty paper, but there are optional trays that can be added to bring the maximum capacity to 2,100 sheets. The 16 MB memory can be upgraded to 384 MB and the processor is 400 MHz. Other upgrades are available, such as a finishing unit and 40 GB hard drive as well.

It is almost hard to believe such a fully loaded all-in-one could still be affordable, but the low cost per page provided by the Ricoh MP2510 toner cartridges makes it possible. This fast and efficient device will cater to a busy work environment and provides the optional upgrades to keep it current in the future, and the Ricoh MP2510 toner will provide a cost savings.
