Ricoh 3310 Printer Review
The Ricoh Fax 3310 may be showing its age, but this multifunction laser machine can still handle the printing, scanning, copying, and faxing needs of a personal user or small office. Most functions can be done in walk-up mode, though network printing is an optional upgrade. The cost of Ricoh 3310 printer toner is fairly low, however, making it an economical choice.
The 3310 is also referred to as the 3310L, and it includes a 33.6 Kbps fax transmission speed. It can print up to 15 pages per minute, which is quite impressive given its size. A 50-sheet automatic document feeder sits perched on the top of the unit, and helps facilitate scanning and copying of multi-page documents quickly, without the need for users to manually feed each page.
For personal use, the 3310 includes only a parallel port for connecting to a PC. An ethernet port can be added with an optional upgrade, allowing it to be shared among several office users. The main issue with sharing might be a limited paper capacity, however, as it can only hold 250 sheets in the main tray, and 100 sheets in the bypass tray. Optional upgrades can boost it to 850 sheets maximum, however.
Unlike models that offer multiple sizes for replacement toners, Ricoh 3310 toner cartridges only come in one size. Each Fax 3310 toner cartridge has an estimated yield of 6,000 pages, so light-duty users won't have to replace it too frequently. Compatible Fax 3310 toner supplies can be purchased from third-party sellers at lower prices than OEM versions.
The 3310 doesn't offer the speed or advanced features of newer, modern devices, but it could still function quite well for users with limited needs. Users who do a lot of copying or printing may find the cost of Ricoh 3310 toner a little high, but for light-duty use, it is fairly cost-effective.
