This unit is specifically designed to print addresses on outgoing mail at rates that far exceed any standard inkjet printer. At the lowest resolution, which is 600x150 dpi, up to 21,800 envelopes can be processed per hour. If a user prefers to work with a higher quality, such as the maximum 600x600 dpi, up to 7,200 envelopes can be completed in an hour.

The DA900 is as durable as it is efficient, boasting a lifespan of 5 years or 30 million pages printed, whichever comes first. Its monthly limit is estimated to be about 500,000 tasks, but on average, about 160,000 tasks are recommended for this unit each month. There is a 2-line LCD within the control panel that will display error messages and status updates. Users can connect to a single computer via USB or parallel port.

Weighing only about 20 pounds with a frame that measures approximately 17x25x21 inches, the DA900 can fit comfortably on most desks or tables. A built-in top-loading feeder makes reloading envelopes convenient and allows hundreds to be stacked at once.
