The PG-210XL ink cartridge is a high-capacity version of the similar PG-210 cartridge, and contains black ink. It provides around 401 pages at an average of 5% page coverage, for a lower cost per page. At a light weight of just 2.2 ounces, it is small enough to be easy to replace, but still has a solid page yield for the price.
Prepare the new remanufactured PG-210XL cartridge by removing it from the box and taking it out of the plastic bag. Depending on how the cartridge is packaged, you may need to remove a plastic protector before you install it by squeezing the two handles together. The cartridge may include a small tape strip instead, which can simply be pulled off.
Make sure the printer is plugged in and turned on, then start by opening the paper tray and lifting upward on the top cover. Make sure the prop lever slides forward on one side to keep the top cover open before you let go of the cover.
After a moment, the carriage containing the ink cartridges will move to the center. Open the cover marked B for black by squeezing the small handles together and lifting it up. Grab the small handle of the empty Canon PG-210 cartridge and pull it out of the opening.
Place the new remanufactured PG-210XL ink cartridge into the opening and close the small cover, snapping it into place. If you have any trouble closing the cover, make sure the cartridge is sitting flat and try again.
Close the printer by lifting up on the cover and folding the prop lever backward so that it folds as the cover is lowered down. You are now ready to resume printing with your new PG-210XL ink cartridge.
The PG-210XL cartridge is compatible with around 18 Canon PIXMA models, starting with all-in-one models in the PIXMA iP2700 series, several models in the MP230 series, and the entire MP480 series. It is also compatible with all-in-one models with document feeders, like the MX320 series, and the MX410 and MX420 models.
