Okidata C8600 Printer Review

The Okidata C8600 color laser printer is designed for the small to medium office environment, like the Oki C5500 toner printer. It combines A3 large format printing with excellent print quality and speed, in a compact and affordable package.

The Oki C8600 color laser printer packs a lot of functionality into its small footprint but costs much more than models like the Oki C5100 toner printer. It can print on sizes up to A3, and supports a wide variety of media types, including CD labels, banners, business cards, transparencies, envelopes, and more. It also has a straight paper path, allowing it to print on media that should not be bent during printing.

Its 200 mhz processor and 128 MB of RAM allow it to handle its own processing without relying on a computer, and its memory can be expanded for users who do a lot of graphics-intensive printing. All models have networking support included, allowing users to connect and share it across a network of computers.

There are three configurations to choose from. The C8600n is the standard model with networking, the C8600dn adds automatic duplexing support, and the C8600cdtn adds extra paper capacity. Standard paper capacity is 400 sheets, but all models can support up to 930 sheets with the addition of an optional upgrade paper tray.

Okidata C8600 toner cartridges have a capacity of 6,000 pages for each color laser toner cartridge. The black printer toner cartridge also has a capacity of 6,000 pages. The cartridges are arranged with three color cartridges and a single black cartridge.

Print speed is very fast, at up to 26 pages per minute in color, and 32 pages per minute in black. Print quality is excellent, with vibrant, accurate colors and extremely sharp and detailed text.

Overall, the Oki C8600 is an impressive A3 printer. Its many configuration options give users the ability to pick and choose the features they need, and upgrade options give it room to grow in the future.
