Lexmark Z65 Printer Review
The Lexmark Z65 has a lot to offer for a basic color inkjet printer. Its compact size and affordable price make it an appealing choice for homes and small offices. Its maximum printing resolution of 4800 by 1200 dpi results in very sharp prints, and speeds are fast, at up to 21 pages per minute for black and 15 pages per minute for color. Lexmark Z65 ink costs are affordable but a bit higher than competing models' printer ink. Two compatible models, the Z65n and the Z65p, are very similar to the Z65.
With its paper trays folded in, it measures a very compact 17.5 by 12 by 8.5 inches. It weighs only 11 pounds, so it can be easily moved around the office if necessary. The Lexmark Z65 ink cartridges are easy to access and replace. One of the main complaints of previous models was the high cost of printer ink, and Lexmark Z65 ink cartridges are much more affordable, showing much improvement in this area.
Setting up the machine is a breeze. The user manual walks buyers through the process of installing the cartridges and connecting the machine. Unfortunately, there is no USB cable included, so those who do not have an extra cable will need to make an additional purchase to get the machine connected and running. Surprisingly, the unit features two input trays, allowing users to load more than one type of paper at once. This is especially useful for keeping photo and plain paper loaded at the same time, ready to print.
In their review of the Lexmark Z65 inkjet unit, Cnet praised its very fast print speeds and its easy setup. They also liked the ability to upgrade the printer with networking support. They disliked the lack of a USB cable and found the printer's quality to be mediocre.
Overall, there is a lot to like about the Lexmark Z65. Its fast speeds and high printing resolution will appeal to most consumers, and the extra paper tray is a nice bonus. The low cost of Lexmark Z65 ink will save buyers money in the long run.
