When it comes to basic inkjet printers, there are many that have been manufactured over the years. It seems like every year new technology makes last year's machines seem outdated. This is the case of the Lexmark Z2300 which was released as a simple photo printer that is light enough to be considered mobile but durable enough to be used in a small or home office. However, advancements in technology made this basic piece of equipment irrelevant and Lexmark discontinued it. It can still be found new and used on the internet, but quite frankly there are printers out there for the same price with twice as many features.
There are four Lexmark Z2300 ink cartridges that are used inside this device. One of them hold black printer ink and produces 22 pages per minute at a maximum resolution of 1200x1200 dpi. The other 2 Lexmark Z2300 ink cartridges contain cyan, magenta and yellow printer ink. These color tanks can reach a resolution of 4800x1200 dpi and print out a maximum of 16 pages each minute.
This inkjet unit will easily link up with just about any computer, because it is compatible with Windows, Mac and most other operating systems. It has the ability to print on many different kinds of paper such as card stock, coated and glossy paper, envelopes, labels, transparencies, iron-on transfers and photo paper. There are also many size options ranging from business card size to 8x11 inches.
Connected by USB 2.0 and with a monthly duty cycle that maxes out at 3,000 pages, the Z2300 is a small force to be reckoned with. Consumers have reviewed it as being reliable, but it does fall apart in high-volume situations. Replacement Lexmark Z2300 ink is available from third party vendors online, as the original manufacturer no longer makes products for this printer.
