Equipped with all the necessary office features, as well as the ability to print excellent photos, the Lexmark X8350 should appeal to home office and small office user alike. Print speed is fast, at up to 19 pages per minute for color and 25 pages per minute for black. Lexmark X8350 ink costs are high, and cost per page is more than some, such as Brother LC65BK ink.

Users with even moderate printing needs will probably want to opt for the high-yield Lexmark X8350 inkjet cartridges, as they offer a lower cost per page. There is also a photo Lexmark X8350 ink cartridge, which is the only way to get the best photo quality, and unfortunately involves swapping the cartridge in and out. Some units have individual photo tanks, like HP 02 Light Cyan ink. This can be a bit convenient, so potential buyers should take this into account when considering the machine. The unit is fairly large, measuring 14.9 inches by 10 inches by 17.6 inches, and weighs 17.2 pounds.

The Lexmark X8350 can print, scan, copy, and fax. Like a true office machine, it features a 50-sheet automatic document feeder for quickly scanning, faxing, or copying multiple pages at once. It also has a flatbed scanner for larger materials that won't fit in the ADF. There is no built-in networking support, as it is designed for a single user to connect it via USB. Wired and wireless networking upgrades are available, however. There are memory card slots and a PictBridge port available on the front of the machine for easy transfer and printing of digital photos, and the full-color 2.36" LCD screen allows users to preview and print photos directly from the front panel.

PC Magazine gave the Lexmark X8350 a rating of 3 out of 5. They praised its long list of features and low price. They found its print speed and print quality to be less impressive than competing models that use HP 60XL Tricolor ink.

Overall, the Lexmark X8350 combines a wide array of features in a compact and affordable package. High ink costs are the only major problem.
