The faxing function sends and receives documents in only a few seconds due to the 33.6 kbps transmission speed. The flatbed scanning surface allows users to scan and copy thick documents, such as textbooks, as well as multi-page tasks. The scanner can scan as many as 23 pages per minute while the copy machine can make up to 40 duplicates in a minute.
Only black-and-white documents can be produced with the X632 because it uses only one Lexmark X632 toner cartridge that holds black printer toner. Though print speed is an efficient 40 pages per minute, quality is not sacrificed. A resolution of 1200x1200 dpi can be reached using the Lexmark X632 toner. Eventually, replacement toners will be needed and can be found online from the vendor or from third party suppliers. The two different printer toner options have page yields of 21,000 or 32,000 prints.
The standard paper capacity is 600 sheets but that can be increased to 2,600 pages. The 64 MB memory that is built into the machine can also be upgraded to 288 MB.
