The Lexmark Optra T622 laser printer is designed for the medium or large office environment. Its robust processing and numerous features make it a great choice for a busy office, and expandability keeps it future-proof. For a small offices, consider something like the Konica Minolta 1600, which uses Konica-Minolta A0V301F toner.

The Lexmark T622 laser printer is a bit on the bulky side, but it is mainly tall, so it still doesn't take a large footprint. It measures 21.2 inches by 16.5 inches by 20.2 inches, and weighs 52 pounds. It has a robust 350 mhz processor and 16 MB of RAM, so it can handle its own processing without slowdowns. Memory can be upgraded to a maximum of 364 MB for heavy graphics users or offices with a lot of shared users.

The T622 is the base model, but it comes in other configurations. The T622n model adds networking, the T622dn adds automatic duplexing and networking, and the T622in adds internet faxing and networking. Print speed is very fast, at up to 40 pages per minute, with a first page out time of 10 seconds or less. Text quality is some of the best available in a laser, and graphics quality is better than average even though all graphics are in greyscale. For an affordable color printer, look at something that uses Dell 310-7895 toner.
