For a reasonable price somewhere between $150 and $200, anyone can own a multi-purpose inkjet printer referred to as the Lexmark Genesis S815. Lexmark is known for producing machines that are equipped to handle high volume printing needs, but this particular unit is designed for smaller offices or personal use. It can scan documents, make copies, send faxes and print in color and black-and-white. Considering the fact that the S815 holds the horse power of four different machines, its weight of about 20 pounds and 15.2x12.6x16.5 inch frame is rather surprising.

The four Lexmark S815 ink cartridges come in black, cyan, magenta and yellow. When using only the black printer ink, as many as 33 pages can be printed. However, when the color Genesis S815 ink gets involved, the output rate slows to about 30 pages per minute. The copying speed is a bit slower, but the ability to enhance images up to 400% their original size is a fantastic feature. The scanner uses flash scan technologies, which is one of the best in existence. The inkjet fax machine can send or receive documents in approximately 3 seconds due to the Super G3 technology and transmission speed of 33.6 Kbps.

The black Genesis S815 ink cartridge has a page yield of 510 pages, while the color printer ink can produce up to 600 pages before expiring. Though these yields are slightly lower than average, replacements are readily available and affordable. Even if the budget is extra tight, remanufactured Lexmark S815 ink is available for half the price as the OEM but guarantees the same yield and quality. The output rate of this device is impressive, but the high resolutions are even more outstanding. Using only black Lexmark S815 ink, resolutions as high as 2400x1200 dpi can be produced, while the color ink reaches up to 4800x1200 dpi.
