The Lexmark P450 is a portable inkjet photo printer designed for basic photo printing without the need for a computer. It would make a good choice for users without a computer who still wish to make full-color photo prints. Its very compact size makes it fairly portable for use when traveling as well. While not as small as some personal photo printers, the machine is still pretty compact. It measures 8.86 inches by 10.9 inches by 15 inches and weighs only 6.5 pounds. While the unit can operate entirely without a computer, it also has no way to connect to a computer, which could be a downside for some buyers. Digital cameras can be connected through its PictBridge port, or memory cards can be connected to one of its many memory card slots. There is even Bluetooth connectivity for camera phones. Lastly, a CD burner is included for storing photos on a CD, which does at least provide a way to get photos to a computer.

This makes the printer ink somewhat expensive on a cost per page basis, but high-yield Lexmark P450 ink cartridges are available, with a page yield of 450 pages, which keeps costs down. For a personal inkjet model, its printer ink costs compare well with competing models.

In a review of the Lexmark P450, PC Magazine praised its compact size and affordable price. They also liked its simplicity of operation. They found its print speed to be slow, however, and found prints to be vulnerable to water damage.

Overall, the Lexmark P450 is an excellent choice for the user who doesn't own or doesn't want to use a computer for printing photos. CD burning is a nice touch, and Lexmark P450 ink costs are easy on the wallet.
