Lexmark C520 Printer Review
A 312.5 MHz processor powers the Lexmark C520 color laser printer to give your color documents new life. Color prints are spit out at 20 pages per minute in 1200 dpi by 1200 dpi resolution, which is much faster than the LaserJet 1500 toner printer by HP. Your documents will jump off of the page with full color or accents for reports, spread sheets, marketing materials and presentations. You won't have to wait long for network print jobs either. With a quick 13 second first page print time you can handle more important matters in your business than waiting for a print.
The Lexmark C250 color laser printer, also known as the C520N, has a base memory of 128 MB that can be expanded to 640 MB through expansion slots. These slots can also be used to add Chinese and Korean fonts if you do business with companies in the East. A separate Photoconductor keeps toner costs down by applying only what you need, like the more expensive Lexmark C534 toner printer. In addition specifically designed toner cartridges are available to maximize your printing costs and clarity. Text is presented equally as well and does not show any signs of distortion or dithering. The unit is compatible with most operating systems including Windows Vista and older versions like NT and 98.
Lexmark C520 toner cartridges come in two different sizes, standard and high capacity. The high capacity toner cartridges have a good 8,000 pages per black toner and 5,000 pages per color laser toner cartridge, while the standard capacity printer toner cartridges only have 4,000 pages per black toner and 3,000 pages for color. The high capacity cartridges are the more cost-effective option as it lowers the cost per page. For even lower cost per page, Optra 1200 toner, also from Lexmark, has a much higher capacity for a low price.
The Lexmark C520 printer set up is fairly simple and shouldn't take you very long. A useful guide is included to help you along the way. Should the 10/100Base ethernet connection not fit your needs, external print servers are available. Color Care Technology will adjust toner levels automatically ensuring consistent prints. In addition a Coverage Estimator feature will conserve toner when it is not needed or needed only slightly.
