The Lanier LD425 is a laser copier designed for large offices with heavy workloads and can handle continuous use at a high-volume and fast pace. This monochrome unit is considered a copy machine but provides users the ability to make it a multipurpose machine by adding printing, scanning and faxing functions. Though the LD425 sacrifices a little on the speed end to deliver enhanced print quality, the output rate is still fast at 25 pages per minute, and savings on Lanier LD425 toner may offset this minor disadvantage.

An automatic document feeder can hold up to 80 sheets to aid in the scanning and copying of documents with multiple pages. The unit can print or copy at a resolution of 2400x600 dpi, the internal scanning resolution is 200 dpi, and incoming faxes will be printed at 400 dpi. Various paper types are supported, which can affect the resolution. Labels, transparencies, photo paper and envelopes are all usable via a bypass tray. The main trays hold up to 1,050 sheets but the maximum paper capacity is 3,550 sheets with the addition of optional trays.

The memory is another upgradable feature. The built-in memory is 256 MB and that can be doubled to a maximum memory of 512 MB. Bluetooth and wireless connections are also upgrade options.

The office budget will benefit from the high capacity of the Lanier LD425 toner cartridges, as it will minimize the overall cost per page and limit the number of replacement toners that will need to be purchased over the life of the machine. The Lanier LD425 toner will produce as many as 11,000 pages before expiring, and the remaining level of printer toner can be monitored through the control panel.
