Lanier LD335 Printer Review
It is not only the versatility of the Lanier LD335 that makes it one of the best office machines in its class, it is the overall speed in which it performs the various functions, with an output rate of up to 35 pages per minute. The LD335 is a good match for mid-sized work environments, but has upgrade features that enable it to operate efficiently in large offices. Though the reasonable price of replacement Lanier LD335 toner keeps the lifetime cost affordable, the upfront price tag may be a bit steep.
Innovative laser technology and high-grade Lanier LD335 toner creates a maximum resolution of 600x600 dpi, printing and copying. However, the quality of incoming faxes is far less than that, maxing out at 400 dpi. When scanning, the maximum resolution is 600 dpi, and documents can be saved to a file or sent as an email.
A monochromatic machine can only deliver black-and-white documents, so only black printer toner is needed. The single Lanier LD335 toner cartridge has a maximum page yield of 30,000, equating to a low cost per printed page. The intuitive control panel, equipped with an oversized touchscreen LCD, will display a message when the time to order replacement toners has come.
A number of security features are also available in this 205 pound business laser machine. Automatic duplex printing is yet another built-in feature and provides the ability to print on both sides of the paper. The LD335 is compatible with most major operating systems and can be connected via USB or ethernet.
As far as upgrades, there are a few expandable features. The memory can be increased from 128 MB to 384 MB and the paper capacity can be raised from 1,050 sheets to 3,550 sheets. Wireless and Bluetooth connections are also available as optional upgrades. The unit offers finishing capabilities as optional upgrades, which includes automatic stapling and hole-punching.
In addition to its fast speeds and excellent multifunction features, the LD335 also has an affordable lifetime maintenance cost. This is due in part to the durable construction, but should be accredited to the low cost per page created by the high-yielding Lanier LD335 toner cartridges.
