Lanier LD151 Printer Review
Although the speeds of the Lanier LD151 laser copier might seem a bit unimpressive compared to faster devices on the market, it has a large variety of features that make it a worthwhile choice, especially when equipped with printing and scanning as the LD151SP model. It can reach speeds of up to 51 pages per minute, uses affordable Lanier LD151 printer toner, and has a built-in document server for digital file management.
Lanier seems to understand the need many offices have for converting to and organizing digital documents, and they have provided an elegant solution. Users can rapidly scan documents and convert them to PDF or other formats, then store them internally or share them via email. Up to 500 recipients can be sent a document at once, and the unit can even access an LDAP address book to find its addresses.
Toners don't have to cost an arm and a leg, and inexpensive Lanier LD151 toner cartridges are the proof. The compact and cylindrical design of the Lanier LD151 toner cartridges disguises the large capacity of up to 43,000 pages that makes them very cost-effective.
The unit responds quickly in more ways than one. It has a first page out time of 4.2 seconds to eliminate waiting when a job is initiated, and its warm-up time is short as well. The machine comes with multiple paper trays that add up to 4,300 sheets in its standard configuration. Expansion options can push this up to 8,300 sheets if needed, for even more capacity.
The Lanier LD151 is not the type of machine that tries to cover every possible feature on the market, but instead focuses on reliability and high-quality output. As the slowest in its series, it still offers solid performance, and the price break will be a good benefit for the office budget.
