Lanier LD045 Printer Review
The Lanier LD045 is a multifunction laser copier designed for the medium or large office environment, and it can be configured as either a standalone digital copier or with scanning, printing, and optional faxing features. Print and copy speeds are fast, at up to 45 pages per minute, and the large capacity of Lanier LD045 printer toner makes it a very cost-effective machine.
No matter how the unit is configured, it comes with a reversing automatic document feeder that can handle duplex scanning of up to 80 sheets at a time. It also supports duplex prints and copies, which can significantly reduce paper costs in a busy office.
The standard paper handling includes two 500-sheet main trays, and a 50-sheet bypass tray for loading media like envelopes, and transparencies without having to clear a tray. Adding extra upgrades can boost the total capacity to a maximum of 3,550 sheets for high-volume use.
A 20 GB hard drive is included for document storage, and when equipped with scanning functionality, users can store their documents digitally, reducing the usage of Lanier LD045 toner. The 600 dpi output resolution isn't the sharpest on the market, but it should be quite adequate for the average office environment.
The design of the toners makes them very easy to replace, and Lanier LD045 toner cartridges are surprisingly inexpensive. Each Lanier LD045 toner cartridge can provide up to 30,000 pages of output, keeping the cost per page is incredibly low, printing around 100 pages for a penny.
By adding configuring it the way they want it, and adding optional features to the LD045, buyers have a lot of options. Some of its upgrades can be a bit pricey, and its price tag is a bit high, but its low running costs will help it pay for itself over the long run.
