It is a multifunction device with print, scan, copy, and fax capabilities that can replace multiple devices.

As a printer, the Lanier AC122 performs very well, with a print speed of 22 pages per minute, and a printing resolution up to 600 dpi. The unit also includes a front-mounted USB port, which supports printing and scanning directly to and from a USB thumb drive. This is a very convenient feature, and can be a life-saver when deadlines are looming and connectivity problems have cropped up. Paper capacity is quite roomy, at 250 sheets and expandable to 550 sheets. The output capacity is a little small for a multifunction at just 150 sheets.

Copying and scanning support a scanning resolution of up to 600 dpi, and full network scanning support, allowing users to scan to a remote PC on the network and have the files waiting when they return to their desk. Copying supports being able to zoom from 25-100%.

The usual fax features are included, such as G3 faxing technology, 33.6 kbps faxing speed, and 200 phonebook entries. The fax machine also supports 40 speed dial entries. The built-in ethernet port allows for easily sharing the machine across the office network. It is worth noting, however, that Mac and Linux machines are not supported. Buyers who have Mac or Linux machines on the network may need to look elsewhere.

Overall, the Lanier AC122 is a great multifunction machine, capable of replacing a multitude of individual machines. Lack of Mac and Linux support may cause some buyers to steer away.
