Kyocera Mita KM-F1060 Printer Review
With a focus on high-volume laser faxing, the Kyocera Mita KM-F1060 also doubles as a printer and basic copier, though its speed of 19 pages per minute is not overly impressive. Extras like a handset and full keyboard are convenient touches that will save users a lot of time, but Kyocera Mita KM-F1060 printer toner supplies won't save them a lot of money.
The KM-F1060 supports duplexing for two-sided output, both for prints and for copies. It can connect to a computer via USB or to a network via ethernet port, so it is easily available to multiple users in a shared environment. Network scanning can be added with an optional scanner kit upgrade.
The unit itself is quite bulky, measuring 17.6x17.7x16.5 inches, with a weight of just less than 50 pounds, which does include the Kyocera Mita KM-F1060 toner supply. The control panel includes both a full number keypad and even a full QWERTY keyboard, which makes typing and entering numbers quicker and easier.
With only a 250-sheet input paper tray, the KM-F1060 is clearly designed for light-duty use at the start. Users who need more capacity can boot it up to 800 pages total by adding extra trays, however.
The cost of toners is quite high, with Kyocera Mita KM-F1060 toner cartridges costing more to replace than many competing models. Even using compatible Kyocera Mita KM-F1060 toner cartridges instead of their pricier OEM equivalents, users might find it hard to fit the model into their budget.
The concept of a high-volume fax machine is a good one, and the fact that the KM-F1060 can also double as a printer and copier makes it very appealing. Unfortunately, the high cost of supplies makes this model too pricey for its target customer.
