The Konica Minolta bizhub C450 is a color multifunction laser printer designed for the large, networked office environment. Its sheer number of features and excellent print quality will impress, and its network capabilities allow the entire office to benefit from all it has to offer.

The bizhub C450 is one of the fastest laser printers available, more so than the Dell 3110cn toner printer, with a scorching 45 pages per minute in monochrome and 35 pages per minute in color. Scanning and copying time adds to the time required for printing, but not by much, as its scanner is one of the fastest available as well.

While the unit provides printing, scanning, and copying functions as standard, faxing is not included by default. If needed, a Super G3 Faxing option is available as an upgrade. Many offices are seeing less need for faxes in the age of email, so it is nice to see a choice available for those who don't particularly need the feature.

Setting it apart from the competition such as the Okidata C5100 toner printer, the C450 includes a set of well-implemented networking features, and allows networked users to access nearly every available option and function remotely. In addition, network scanning is supported, allowing users to send scans directly to their networked computer, email, or an ftp server. The C450 includes an integrated web interface that can be accessed by a web browser, without the need for installed software. The included software, once installed, includes a useful suite of features, including OCR (optical character recognition) software, useful for the digitization and archive of documents.

In sensitive environments, the C450 has a robust set of security features to keep documents safe and secure. Options can be set for hard disk overwrite and job erase, which clears the memory after each job, so that documents cannot be accessed by unauthorized users. Users can also be restricted from accessing certain functions such as print, scan, copy, or fax on an individual basis.

Overall, the Konica Minolta bizhub C450 represents the modern evolution of the all-in-one machine and is a clear upgrade from the Konica-Minolta 2430 toner printer. It provides virtually every feature an office could want, and has the speed and capacity to handle the largest of networks.
