Konica-Minolta C25 Printer Review

From a company known for large office machines, the compact Konica-Minolta bizhub C25 multifunction color laser printer is a bit of a surprise. It can fit into smaller office spaces, but still offers solid performance, with speeds of up to 25 pages per minute in both color and black and white. While its price is affordable, the cost of Konica-Minolta C25 printer toner supplies could be a concern for small budgets.

The C25 is equipped for printing, scanning, and copying in its base configuration, and faxing is included as well. The main tray holds 250 sheets, while a second bypass tray can hold up to 100 sheets of specialty media. Upgrades are available for up to 850 sheets of input paper capacity. The unit is a bit heavy, weighing 70 pounds with the bizhub C25 toner supplies installed, but has a footprint of just 28.5x35.5 inches.

The 4.3-inch color touchscreen display is not as large as those of some of its competition, but it does a decent job of making the device easy to use. Despite its compact size, the C25 can handle a monthly volume of up to 120,000 pages, so it can support a sizable workgroup reliably.

The machine's biggest hurdle is the high cost of Konica-Minolta C25 toner cartridges. With four toners to replace, the cost per page is high, even with each bizhub C25 toner cartridge offering a yield of 6,000 pages. Third-party Konica-Minolta C25 toner is also fairly difficult to find, unlike some competing models.

The C25 has a solid balance of speed and affordability, and its compact frame is appealing to small office with limited space available. Still, its output speed might be too slow for busy users, and supply costs are a big consideration for any office that doesn't have a large budget to work with.
