Laser printers are everywhere, and there are hundreds of different models out there users can choose from. Though Dell, HP and Brother are certainly better known than Konica Minolta, that doesn't mean Konica products aren't wonderful products. The Konica Minolta magicolor 2590MF, though outdated, is a wonderful all in one for offices needing both monochrome and color prints alike. However, its color speeds are somewhat slow, so that should be taken into consideration. Able to produce up to 35,000 pages per month it should keep up with most offices quite well. The 2590MF can copy, scan, fax and print, and does each with precision and accuracy.
Like most color laser printers, four Konica Minolta 2590MF ink cartridges are needed for printing. The magicolor 2590MF ink needed include cyan, magenta, yellow and black printer toner. Each of the magicolor 2590MF toner cartridges last 4,500 before needing replaced, which should last users quite awhile.
Remanufactured Konica Minolta 2590MF toner is available for anyone who would like to save money. Replacement toners can get pricey over the life of a printer, but remanufactured replacements are much more affordable than OEM products. The cost per page is dramatically different when remanufacture Konica Minolta 2590MF toner is used.
The real problem with this unit is its speeds. When printing in black-and-white, the fastest the unit can operate is 20 pages per minute. While that may not sound too bad, the color speed of 5 pages per minute probably will. For offices that rarely print in color, those speeds may do just fine. However, companies that print in color often will definitely need a different machine if time is important.
While speed may be a concern, quality of produced documents isn't. Resolutions as high as 2400x600 dpi can be reached when printing, and copying resolutions of 600x600 dpi are even possible.
