The Kodak Hero 7.1 includes the standard features buyers would expect from an all-in-one multifunction inkjet printer, but includes some extras to make sharing and printing to and from the web easier. Print speeds are a little on the slow side, at 8.5 pages per minute for black and 5.5 pages per minute for color. Printer ink costs are where the machine really shines, however, as Kodak 7.1 ink is very affordable.

One of the most interesting features of the device is its support for Google Cloud Print. This web service allows computers, tablets, and other devices to send documents and photos to the printer over the internet, for immediate printing. This allows the machine to support platforms such as iOS that might not otherwise be supported. The scan and copy functions are very well-designed, with quick access to both features via the front control panel, and wireless connectivity is built right in for printing without the hassle of wires.
