IBM 1332 Printer Review
When it comes to office printers, IBM brings something new to the table. The IBM Inforprint 1332 is a base model laser printer with impressive speed and quality, but only a single function. The 1332n has built-in networking, allowing this printer to be shared amongst multiple users. The 300 MHz processor provides an output rate of 35 pages per minute and a first-page-out time of 8.5 seconds. All of these features are standard for printers in this class, however IBM offers a multi-purpose add-on machine that will give users the ability to scan, fax and copy.
The 1332 does not have color capabilities, as it is a monochrome unit. Only one IBM 1332 toner cartridge is a used during operation and it holds high-grade black printer toner. Each Infoprint 1332 toner cartridge has a maximum page yield of 21,000 prints, which is enough to handle high-volume daily tasks without replacement toners being needed too often. Compatible IBM 1332 toner is available from third party vendors, which is a more economical option for users. A maximum resolution of 1200x1200 dpi can be created using the Infoprint 1332 toner, which will provide professional quality.
This machine has a few expandable features, which, in addition to the multi-functional machine that can be added, allows the 1332 to adapt to growing offices. The built-in memory is 32 MB, which can be upgraded to a maximum of 288 MB. The standard paper capacity is 350 sheets, but four additional trays are available which will increase the capacity to a maximum of 3,850 sheets.
Connected via USB, parallel or ethernet interface and compatible with all major operating systems, the 1332 will work in any office. It has optional duplex printing, a 175,000 print monthly duty cycle and a frame compact enough to fit in limited space. The IBM 1332 toner is affordable, and this reliable laser printer is sure to improve productivity.
