HP T610 Printer Review

The HP DesignJet T610 comes from a long line of large format inkjet printers. With a size of 49.7x26x15.4 inches, it does take up a lot of room in offices—whether large or small—and the heavy weight of 103.6 pounds will definitely be a downside to users. Because this unit uses rolls of paper, it comes standard with a cutter, as well as wired USB connection. Upon purchase, there are 128 MB of RAM installed, which cannot be upgraded on this unit as it can with many similar machines.

One thing that buyers really love is the versatility offered by machines like this one. For instance, a ton of papers can be printed on. Users can print on semi-gloss paper, matte film, satin photo paper and bone paper. Glossy photo paper is accepted too. Not only can it print on a lot of different types, but different sizes are supported too. Media up to 24 inches by 300 feet are even accepted. With versatility like this, a number of different projects will be able to be done using the T610.

Black, cyan, magenta, photo black, matte black and gray HP T610 ink cartridges are needed for printing. While it may seem like a lot of upkeep to have six DesignJet T610 ink cartridges to maintain, the more printer ink tanks there are inside, the less waste that will be produced. If this one was a two HP T610 ink system, every time one color (like magenta) ran out, the user would have to replace the entire cartridge. Generally that means there is a lot of wasted printer ink. Over the life of the printer, that can make the inkjet tanks rather expensive.

As far as resolutions produced using the HP T610 ink, most will be pleasantly surprised. Resolutions as high as 2400x1200 dpi can be created thanks to DesignJet T610 ink.
