HP T120 Printer Review

Taking wide-format inkjet printing and wrapping it up with the latest wireless sharing technologies is a clever trick that the HP Designjet T120 pulls off quite well. It can handle rolled media as well as standard sheets, prints an A1 size page in about 70 seconds, but HP T120 printer ink can get expensive, and its purchase price might be too high for smaller budgets.

In the wide-format category, the T120 is fairly budget-priced. It can print at widths of up to 24 inches, and its unique design can accept roll media, cut sheets, or standard paper sheets in its traditional paper tray. This extra versatility is impressive enough, but the fact that the machine measures just 11.2x38.9x20.9 inches is even better. At 56.2 pounds including the Designjet T120 printer ink supplies, it won't be too difficult to set up, either.

The T120 includes a large 4.3-inch touchscreen on the control panel and supports HP's ePrint protocols so that users can send documents remotely or from mobile devices. The ePrint & Share features even allow for cloud access to documents, and with wireless support built right in, it is easy to get it up and running. Expert reviews noted excellent photo quality, with graphics and text that was average to above-average.

With four discrete colors of HP T120 ink cartridges, users can reduce waste and control costs more easily than inkjet models with combined colors. The cost of Designjet T120 ink cartridges are a little high, but a high-capacity black supply is available to reduce the cost per page a bit.

Designers and graphic artists in small offices will like the T120's compact design and excellent performance. Its ability to handle three different formats of media is impressive, as long as the cost of HP T120 ink doesn't overwhelm the budget.
