For a device with inkjet printing, scanning, and copying, the HP PSC 2310 all-in-one is surprisingly affordable as well. This is mainly because it has a simple design with a minimal feature set, but it still manages to provide up to 21 pages per minute in black and 15 pages per minute in color. The high cost of HP PSC 2310 printer ink could be a problem for most home users, though.

The PSC 2310 favors a compact design, measuring 9.1x19x15.4 inches, though it is heavier than some in its class, at 18.3 pounds (including the HP PSC 2310 ink supplies). The paper capacity is 150 sheets, as a good compromise for home use, but its limited control panel and small, monochromatic screen might be one too many limitations for some users.

The front of the device includes memory card slots, which are very convenient, but users will need to connect it to a computer via USB cable in order to take advantage of them, due to the lack of direct printing support. Still, with the included software like HP Image Editor, Photo Gallery, and more, this is hardly a downside, as these packages can help create a multitude of different projects or enhance photos before printing.

As with many all-in-one inkjet models, the true cost comes in printer ink expenses, and HP PSC 2310 ink cartridges are not only pricey, but their small capacities make for a high cost per page. Buyers are advised to use remanufactured HP PSC 2310 ink cartridges from third-party manufacturers, which can reduce costs and make it a better value for long-term use.

The HP PSC 2310 doesn't offer much beyond the very basics. For some buyers, however, this will be exactly what they need, and they get the benefit of a low purchase price as well.
