HP PSC 1510 Printer Review

The HP PSC 1510 ink printer is an inexpensive multifunction device that costs less than $100. You can copy, print, and scan using this machine. This AIO is a lightweight machine, it weighs 11.2 lbs. It is not as sturdy as one would like it to be. It measures 17.1 x 23.1 x 16 in. The machine offers PictBridge compatibility but not a photo-preview display. Also there is no support for memory devices. The printer ships with an inbuilt memory of 32 MB.

The HP 1510 ink cartridge device offers print speeds of up to 20 ppm and 18 ppm for monochrome and color prints, respectively. The rated print resolutions are up to 1200 x 1200 dpi for monochrome and up to 4800 x 1200 dpi for color. The HP 1510 inkjet cartridge AIO uses two ink cartridges, the HP 92 Black and HP 93 Tricolor. Both ink tanks have a page yield of 220 pages. As with most budget ink printers you can avail 6-ink prints by substituting the black tank with a photo ink cartridge.

The input tray on the PSC 1510 can support up to 100 sheets; you can feed the machine plain paper, photo paper, envelopes, cards, labels, transparencies, and iron-on transfers. The machine does not feature a duplexer and an ADF. The digital copier can issue 50 copies at a time. It can enlarge and reduce documents to 400% and 25% of the original size. Standalone copying and scanning are useful features offered by the HP 1510.

With a monthly duty cycle of 1000 impressions, relatively sluggish speeds, and decent output quality the HP PSC 1510 inkjet MFD is a good bet for the occasional home user or amateur photography enthusiast. There are other models offering pretty much the same feature set but built for a heavier work load, you should consider those if your print requirements are regular and exceed 1000 prints a month.
