HP P2014 Printer Review

A dedicated printer is one that does not offer multiple functions; rather it is designed to specifically handle printing needs. This laser printer is a giant among men, offering features that are intended to increase productivity while maintaining a high standard of quality, and doing so affordably.

It is the 264 MHz processor that fuels the overall rate of 24 pages printed per minute and quickly transfers data, reducing delay time for large jobs. The built-in memory is 32 MB, which is sufficient for a single user but may be a bit slow if shared by multiple people in a workgroup, hence why networking is not an available option. Connection can only be made through a USB or parallel port. Fortunately, the P2014 is compatible with all major operating systems.

Though the starter HP P2014 toner cartridge can only yield 3,000 pages, replacement toners offer more options. High-capacity LaserJet P2014 toner cartridges can be purchased from various vendors and it will yield up to 7,000 prints. Compatible versions of the HP P2014 toner is available as well, minimizing cost per page even more. Because this is a monochrome device, only black printer toner is used which could be a turn off for consumers with color printing needs. However, the black-and-white documents will have a resolution of 1200x1200 dpi with the LaserJet P2014 toner.

Envelopes, transparencies and cards are a few of the specialty media types that are supported and held on the 250-sheet input tray. In another example of versatility, MICR HP P2014 toner can also be found for users that have a need for check printing.
