HP MFP X585 Printer Review

With the high quality of inkjet printing and the capacity and speed to handle large volumes, the HP OfficeJet Enterprise MFP X585 is an impressive model. Its maximum speed of 75 pages per minute puts it near the top of its class, and those concerned about high prices for HP MFP X585 printer ink will find it more affordable than comparable color laser models.

There are three models in the MFP X585 series. The first is the MFP X585dn with duplexing and networking, then the MFP X585f that adds faxing capabilities. The MFP X585z includes all of these features, but also has a larger automatic document feeder, holding 100 sheets at a time instead of 50. This makes it particularly appealing to offices that do a lot of scanning.

One of the more unique features of the MFP X585 is its large 8-inch color touchscreen display. This acts as the main control panel for most operations, and not only is it intuitive, but it can be customized to store the most common workflows. The screen can also do full-color photo previews, and help users keep tabs on the amount of paper and OfficeJet Enterprise MFP X585 ink remaining.

For an inkjet model, the cost of OfficeJet Enterprise MFP X585 ink cartridges is actually surprisingly affordable. Each of the color HP MFP X585 ink cartridges can yield around 6,600 pages, but the black printer ink lasts for around 10,000 pages. This combination of low prices and large capacity HP MFP X585 ink provides a low cost per page.

The MFP X585 is too big and too expensive for smaller offices and tight budgets, but with excellent output quality and quick speeds, it is just what an enterprise office needs. It may not be as upgradeable as some buyers would like, however.
