HP X555 Printer Review

The HP OfficeJet Enterprise X555 is a fast, high-quality color inkjet printer built for heavy workloads. It lacks the multifunction features of models like the X585, but this makes it more affordable overall. The unit can reach a top speed of up to 72 pages per minute, and buyers won't have to spend a lot to replace OfficeJet Enterprise X555 printer ink.

As a contrast to large, expensive color laser models, this fairly compact device can still handle enterprise workloads. It measures just 18.5x21.15.7 inches, with a weight of 51 pounds that even includes the four HP X555 printer ink supplies. It comes in two models: the X555dn is the base model with duplexing and networking and the X555xh adds extra paper capacity.

The base model includes a 500-sheet main paper tray and a 50-sheet multipurpose tray for input. The upgraded model adds another 500-sheet tray. While the base model can be upgraded to match, neither can be upgraded past the 1,050 sheets of input, so buyers may find it limiting if they need more paper capacity. Both models feature a 2400x1200 dpi output resolution when using color HP X555 ink, and both include USB and Gigabit ethernet connections, with wireless support as an upgrade option.

As with any inkjet, the cost of printer ink can make or break it, and thankfully OfficeJet Enterprise X555 ink cartridges are very affordable. While the upfront price of the machine may turn some buyers away, the long-term cost of replacing HP X555 ink cartridges will be low, making it a good value.

Buyers with the budget to handle the X555's upfront cost will reap great rewards, from its fast speeds to its excellent output quality. With limits on its maximum input paper capacity, it may be a bit too weak for some enterprise office, however.
