The HP OfficeJet 5744 e-All-in-One is an inkjet model that can print, scan, copy, and fax. It has an automatic document feeder that is perfect for office work, as well as a flatbed surface. The unit is rated for ISO speeds of up to 12 pages per minute in black and 8 pages per minute in color. Best of all, the cost of HP 5744 printer ink supplies is competitive with other models in its class.

With so many inexpensive models offering wireless support but not wired networking, it is nice to see the 5744 offer both. This gives users the freedom to place the unit anywhere, or to use an existing wired ethernet network. The control panel consists mainly of the 2.7-inch touchscreen display, so it doesn't rely on a lot of hardware buttons. This makes it both easy to use and visually less cluttered.

The inkjet system uses two separate HP 5744 ink cartridges, but actually consists of four colors, as one is a tricolor supply. The standard OfficeJet 5744 ink cartridges provide yields of 165 and 200 pages for tricolor and black, respectively. The high-capacity HP 5744 ink supplies provide 415 and 600 pages.

The purchase price of the HP OfficeJet 5744 is downright shocking considering the features and functions included. With extras like the ADF and mobile printing options, buyers get a lot of bang for the buck.
