The HP Mopier 322 laser printer and copier is designed for fairly high-volume printing in small or medium-sized offices, though its bulky design could be an issue for offices with limited space, especially with extra paper trays installed. It can reach speeds of up to 32 pages per minute, which is pretty solid for a smaller device, and HP 322 printer toner supplies are quite affordable.

The 322 has a somewhat bulky design. The main unit measures only 20.5x21.3x22.3 inches, but adding extra paper trays increases its height significantly. With a weight of 106 pounds even before the paper trays or the Mopier 322 toner supplies are installed, it could be a bit difficult to move without the optional wheels and cart as well. Printing may require an adapter for some users, as the unit includes only a parallel port for connecting to a computer.

With a 600 dpi output resolution, the unit produces sharp text, and a FastRes 1200 mode can emulate 1200 dpi output without a slowdown in speed. Duplex printing is supported, though it does reduce the speed to less than half. A straight-through paper path helps to reduce paper jams for thicker media, and an automatic document feeder can be added for faster scanning.

Replacing toners is a quick and easy process, and not too expensive either, as HP 322 toner cartridges are affordable, with large capacities. Each Mopier 322 toner cartridge has an estimated yield of around 20,000 pages, keeping the cost per page low. With remanufactured HP 322 toner available from third-party sellers, users can save over expensive OEM supplies.

Given its limited connection options, the Mopier 322 may make a better standalone copier than a combination printer. Offices that want an upgradeable device, however, will like the customization options that are available.
