Though it has an expensive retail price, the HP LaserJet Enterprise 700 M775f multifunction color laser printer offers more paper capacity than other models in its line, equipping it for high-volume office work. Print speeds are merely average, at up to 30 pages per minute, and LaserJet Enterprise 700 M775f printer toner costs are high.

The M775f is one of several configurations available. The MFP M775 and MFP M775dn are the most basic, the MFP M775f adds faxing and more paper capacity, and the MFP M775z and MFP M775z+ add even more paper capacity and an in-line stapler/stacker. Each model comes with the same connectivity options, which includes a USB port and Gigabit ethernet port, and wireless is available as an optional upgrade.

Two of the most touted features are the unit's network scanning and its large, colorful touchscreen display, which almost resembles a tablet computer, with a streamlined interface and large icons. This makes it possible for users to do more from the machine itself, without the need for a computer.

When it comes to scanning, the 100-sheet automatic document feeder is very generous, and can handle a stack of paper documents in very little time. Once scanned, the internal hard drive stores digital documents for later use, or they can be sent to a flash drive plugged into the front USB port, sent to an email address, and more. With such a focus on digital workflows, users may find their HP M775f toner costs going down, as well as their paper supply costs.

The large capacity of HP M775f toner cartridges is impressive, but it is matched by equally large price tags. At up to 16,000 pages for each of the color toners and 13,500 pages for the single black LaserJet Enterprise 700 M775f toner cartridge, they won't need to be replaced often, but its operating costs are certainly higher than competing models.

With large capacities, the M775f laser printer could be an appealing choice for large office environments, particularly for buyers drawn to the touchscreen control panel. Its mediocre speeds and expensive HP M775f toner supplies limit its appeal, however.
