HP M5025 Printer Review

The HP LaserJet M5025 laser printer is a multifunction device for the medium or large office environment. Its fast speeds and excellent print quality are impressive, but it might be too limiting for high-volume offices, especially since it doesn't offer color capabilites.

The HP M5025 laser printer is also referred to as the M5025 MFP. It has a fairly large paper capacity of 600 sheets, which can be expanded with additional paper trays to a maximum capacity of 2,100 sheets. It has a 460 mhz processor and 256 MB of memory, allowing it to handle complex or graphics-intensive prints with ease.

The unit includes both a flatbed scanner and a 35-sheet automatic document feeder. This allows for quickly scanning multiple pages at once, without the need to feed each page individually. The ADF can be used for either scanning or copying. The unit can print, scan, and copy, but does not have faxing capabilities, which could be an issue for some buyers.

Both color and monochrome scanning is supported, at optical resolutions up to 600 dpi, and enhanced resolutions up to 2400 dpi. The software supports all modern versions of Windows, as well as modern versions of Mac OS X.

HP M5025 toner cartridges have a fairly small capacity, which could be a problem for a busy office. The printer toner cartridge has a capacity of 15,000 pages. For a high-volume office, the laser toner cartridge would need to be replaced fairly frequently. HP LaserJet M5025 toner cartridges are also more expensive than many competing units.

Print quality is excellent. Text is very sharp and detailed, even at small font sizes. Graphics and photo quality is some of the best available in a monochrome laser printer. High resolutions are created with the printer toner.

Overall, the LaserJet M5025 has a lot of speed and quality to offer, as well as customization, but its high toner costs and small cartridge capacity could be an issue for busy office environments.
